Return to the Silverbacks

I've dreamed of returning to the Silverback Mountain Gorilla's. This experience was different, yet just as magical as the first time. Francois my personal guide, who has lived in Ruhengeri and worked with the Gorilla's for 29 years. He is very communicative with the gorillas. As he was at the birth of many of the Silverbacks. He also worked and was a friend of Dian Fossey, as was Rosemond Carr whom I mentioned in an earlier blog entry. The Silverbacks live in danger at all times. Only about 720 mountain gorilla's remain on our planet.

The Virunga Volcano Park range, in Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo,
this is where they are in the most danger of poachers. The Congolese eat bush meat (gorilla's) then sell the hands as ash trays, and their heads to very sick individuals.

They sit and pick their nose as we sit and pick our noses.
We have alot in common with the Mountain Gorillas. Humans and gorillas are 98% genetically identical. I think they are more evolved than most humans.
Yet aren't we the most intelligent species on this planet???
Then why are we destroying our earth, the climate, it's beauty, and living beings.

In the jungle all animals live together in harmony and peace, they only kill to survive, for food. As humans we kill for sport, power, oil, land, in the name of God. We are, full of anger, jealousy, and fear, very egotistical the human mind. I think we can learn alot from the Silverback Mountain Gorilla's.

So let's try to keep them around so they can teach so to live in peace and harmony as they do, and they are threatened everyday by man. But they don't try and kill us every time they see us, like we have done to them.

So tell me who's the more intelligent and spiritual species???
